This table ranks every Premier League player by total Fantasy Premier League points for the season, split by position so you can compare like with like. Goalkeepers and defenders score on a different scale to forwards, so an overall list flatters attackers and hides good defensive value.

Points per million

Total points alone does not tell you whether a player is worth his price. A 5.0m midfielder on 90 points is doing more for your budget than a 12.5m forward on 130. Weigh raw totals against price before committing a transfer.

Form versus season total

A season total is a backward-looking number. Players returning from injury, new signings and anyone who has recently changed role will be ranked lower than their current output justifies — cross check against recent form and upcoming fixtures.

FPL Player Rankings FAQ

FPL points are awarded for various actions: goals (4-6 points depending on position), assists (3 points), clean sheets (4 points for DEF/GK, 1 for MID), saves (1 point per 3 saves), and bonus points (1-3). Players lose points for goals conceded, yellow cards (-1), red cards (-3), own goals (-2), and missed penalties (-2).

Historically, premium midfielders tend to score the most total points because they get attacking returns (goals/assists) plus 1 point for clean sheets. However, the best value often comes from defenders who get clean sheet points and attacking returns from set pieces. Forwards rely purely on goals and assists.

Points update in real-time during matches for goals, assists, and cards. Bonus points are provisional during games and finalized within an hour after full-time. Clean sheet points are awarded at 60 minutes if maintained. Our dashboard updates automatically every 30 seconds during live matches.

Not necessarily. Consider points per million (value), upcoming fixtures, and form. A player with fewer total points but better upcoming fixtures might outscore a top scorer facing tough matches. Also consider ownership - differential picks with lower ownership can help you climb the ranks.

Look at recent form (last 5 gameweeks), upcoming fixture difficulty, expected goals/assists (xG/xA), and minutes played. Players returning from injury or with new managers can be good differentials.
