FPL DEFCON StatsFPL DEFCON Stats 2026/27: Live Goalkeeper Saves & Defensive Points
Live saves & defensive contributions · 26/27
DEFCON is shorthand for defensive contribution — the defensive actions that move a player's FPL score, either directly or through the Bonus Points System. This page tracks them live for every fixture in the gameweek.
Goalkeeper saves
Goalkeepers earn 1 FPL point per 3 saves. Saves also feed BPS, and from 2025/26 a save inside the penalty area is worth more BPS than one from outside the box, so a busy keeper can climb the bonus rankings quickly.
CBIT and recoveries
CBIT covers clearances, blocks and interceptions. It awards no FPL points on its own, but along with recoveries and tackles won it is a large part of how defenders and defensive midfielders reach the top three in BPS. Watching CBIT during a match is often the earliest signal that a defender is heading for bonus.
FPL Defensive Contribution (DEFCON) FAQ
DEFCON stands for Defensive Contribution. It tracks the key defensive actions that earn FPL points: goalkeeper saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions (CBIT), and recoveries. Monitoring these stats during live matches helps you understand which defenders and goalkeepers are picking up extra points beyond clean sheets.
Goalkeepers earn 1 FPL point for every 3 saves they make in a match. A goalkeeper who makes 6 saves gets 2 extra points on top of any clean sheet or bonus points. Our tracker shows live save counts during matches so you can see these points accumulating in real time.
CBIT stands for Clearances, Blocks, and Interceptions Total. While CBIT does not directly award FPL points, it feeds into the Bonus Points System (BPS). Defenders and goalkeepers with high CBIT scores are more likely to earn 1-3 bonus points after a match.
Recoveries contribute to the BPS scoring system. Each recovery adds to a player's BPS total, which determines who receives the 3, 2, and 1 bonus points after each match. Defensive midfielders and centre-backs tend to rack up the most recoveries.
Centre-backs and defensive midfielders from teams that face a lot of shots tend to earn the most from defensive actions. Goalkeepers facing mid-table or lower opposition often pick up high save counts. Check our live tracker during matches to see which players are accumulating saves, CBIT, and recoveries.
